Pregnancy vs. Art

WOW I HAVEN'T POSTED ANYTHING IN A WHILE!!!

Basically just been in and out of a daze for the past few weeks. Worried about my health in terms of my baby's health. Sometimes I wish i had a scope or something I could use to watch whats going on in there. lol everything is sore and half the time I feel sick but its all good as long as the baby is healthy and the doctors say everything's ok then i'm good.

I find that the bigger i get the harder it is to sit for long stretches of time lol then i have horrible posture so it just makes things a lot worse. I still push through the discomfort sometimes though. Ugh I swear it can be so painful sometimes but meah. Anyway I was able to complete the prototype for a chibi bunny sculpt. I drew out my plans and roughly outlined where i'd like the joints to be placed.

Sculpted the doll in super sculpey the proceeded to work on the junk cast. I'm now in the process of tweaking bits and pieces then on to my final molds. Looking forward to finishing this.

Turtle

Forgot to add this to my last post so i figured i might as well do it now while its still saved as a draft.

This is the 2nd face plate i'm currently sculpting. Actually the sketch for this doll came way before the bear. I just happened to sculpt the bear first. Its going to be a turtle when its done lol haven't decided what i'm going to do for its shell yet.

In terms of casting these in resin i'm currently gathering the funds for some mold making supplies. I'm not sure how long it'll take me but things are definitely moving along at a somewhat steady pace. lol I've spent too much time working on this to not complete it.

I'm also looking for something to use as a core for hollow joints that wont crumble in a pressure pot. The channels are quite small so finding something that will work has been so challenging. Right now i'm thinking of maybe using brass rods, knitting needles or maybe even plastic lollipop sticks. I don't have the luxury to experiment with mold making so there is really no room for errors or wasted molds :( i really cant afford it.  I feel like if i can make good molds for the body then everything will work out.

Revisiting past projects

So i'm currently in the process of refining one of my sculpts and preparing it for the mold making process. :D I'm actually going to see about making some artisan cast copies so i can have something more resilient than air dry clay to play with and maybe some copies for anyone who might be interested in owning this doll.

I was originally going to get this professionally cast but
it 's just too expensive for me. Maybe one day when i'm able to raise the funds i'll be able to get this professionally cast, till then :D this is my diy designer toy  project.
