Revisiting past projects

So i'm currently in the process of refining one of my sculpts and preparing it for the mold making process. :D I'm actually going to see about making some artisan cast copies so i can have something more resilient than air dry clay to play with and maybe some copies for anyone who might be interested in owning this doll.

I was originally going to get this professionally cast but
it 's just too expensive for me. Maybe one day when i'm able to raise the funds i'll be able to get this professionally cast, till then :D this is my diy designer toy  project.

Short term goals.

So I've been thinking a lot about my career these past few days and have come up with a few short term goals to hopefully help move things along. My portfolio is basically shit at the moment too so i need to create some pieces to help beef things up. LOL I've come to the conclusion that i need to have at least 50 solid designs in there by December. I also need to paint more. I feel like i'm loosing whatever skills i might have learned at uni and need to start practicing a lot more. I have a lot of paints just need to get some canvases and good quality paper and i'm good to go. Solo shows are so intriguing to me these days and i would love to have one or at least know how to apply for one by this time next year.

So in terms of short term goals by December i'd like to have a beefy portfolio, more paintings, and a few completed sculptural pieces (doll prototypes mostly).

By this time next year i would like to be more self sufficient. Be more comfortable with selling my artwork and know more about art galleries and how they work.

Al in all i would like to learn more about and be well on my way to becoming a full time artist.

Baby sculpt W.I.P

Started working on this sculpt the other day. It has ears now so i guess it looks a bit different from this pic. I'm not entirely sure what to do with its body and limbs yet since this is my first one lol hopefully things come out ok. There was a period where this face was looking hideous and i was really worried that it'll be ugly but now i feel like its passable. To me it recognizable as a baby so i'm happy with it for now.
